This discussion brings together five visual artists to explore the multifaceted nature of identity through their unique perspectives and artistic practices. Each artist invites viewers into a personal and collective dialogue about how identity—shaped by culture, history, race, gender, and experience—transcends the boundaries of the individual and intersects with broader societal narratives.

This panel brings together multidisciplinary illustrators and visual artists who investigate folklore, fantasy, and speculative futures as storytelling devices. Using diverse mediums such as publications, installations, motion graphics, and video games, they offer multicultural and alternative perspectives through visual culture. As a contemporary image maker, they invite audiences to challenge their perceptions and participate in a conversation about modern complexities.

Folklore: 3 pm - 3:55 pm

This panel explores the psychological impact of art as it transcends traditional spaces, delving into the mind, body, and intangible realms like music. We'll examine hieroglyphs and asemic writing as tools to challenge interpretation and push the boundaries of meaning. Discussions will address colonization, consumer behavior, postmodern microaggressions, and cognitive overload, emphasizing their influence on visual culture. Highlighting multidisciplinary practices and hands-on processes as grounding acts, this panel invites audiences to consider how art shapes and challenges mental landscapes in today’s visual world.

Psychology: 4 pm - 4:55 pm
